Who we are
JAMA (Japan America Media Association) is a Non-Profit Organization under California Corporate Law (501 (c) (3)) located Irvine, CA.
It’s founded for the purpose of supporting any organization and/or personnel involved in the industry of Media, such as Journalists for news paper, magazine, Television and Radio news outlet, Photographer, website creator and designer, film maker, visual creator, writer and director, producer, videographer, sound engineer, to expand their field and connection, as well as enhance relationship in between Japanese and American by creating series of cultural and journalistic exchange programs.
What we do
We are conducting various cultural events, fund raising event and projects, student exchange and support for internship, to contribute our society.
We have been conducting JFFLA(Japan Film Festival Los Angeles) since 2003 (It was called “Chanoma Film Festival back then) to create many opportunities for Japanese and American Film makers as well as many of those who wants to see more Japanese film in the US to exchange their view of Japanese culture, and cultivate friendship and mutual understanding through films.
We have just added a fund raising charity project called CFFC (California Firefighters Calendar) to our project list. This is a charitable project mainly support our local firefighters who protect our lives and properties. We create series of Calendar featuring firefighters from various participated Fire department in California, and donate net proceeds to each participated Firefighters Association and their Department. Related to this project, we are planning to participate and support several charitable events throughout Southern California to sell this calendar to raise awareness of fire prevention and emergency tactics for local community.
Another project are “Japan Fair” or “Seminar” or ” Help other movie screening” or “Concert events” etc. We will announce more details for production schedule and career opportunity and support Japanese American community.
